We are a family run backpackers /travellers lodge situated on a smallholding 1km from the centre of Franschhoek. We have a relaxed and rustic atmosphere and provide a comfortable base from which to explore the Franschhoek Valley and surrounds, whether it be hiking, mountain biking, wine tasting or dining. Near the river, we have a mix of five en-suite rooms, and three family rooms. Our rooms are unique log-cabin style rooms.
The five cosy, compact en suite double/twin
rooms are adjoining and lead onto a deck overlooking the forested riverbank. Each sleeps a maximum of 2 persons. The en suite family rooms are freestanding and nestled amongst the trees. Each is one large room which sleeps a maximum of 4 persons and has its own limited self-catering facilities. We also offer four campsites for tents, rooftop-tent vehicles, campervans and overland vehicles. Each campsite is a site only and for a maximum of 2 persons. Campers share three shower/toilet/basin ablutions and have full use of the self- catering facilities. Our Otters Barrel is a communal open plan area with big fireplace,couches, dining tables and self-catering facilities. A couple of braai areas are situated near the building overlooking the river.
Situated on the same property but with a separate entrance, we have Orchards View our farm cottage nestled in amongst pear trees. The downstairs contains one double en suite and one twin en suite room. The cottage has an open plan living room with
equipped kitchen. It is suitable for families or four adults.
